Racecar Shed

I’m guessing the German caption translates to, “No, I don’t have a lift, high-shine epoxy floor, Snap-On rolling cabinet, or 10hp air compressor… Nürburgring.”

Romantic as the whole Nurburgring is also the ‘forester’s house’–but I like your translation better! But what is the single seater? An early post-war Veritas or other BMW powered special?

That looks like a Mercedes Benz W25. It has a headrest fairing, so that places it in 1934. That was the first year Mercedes returned to Grand Prix racing after about a 10 year hiatus, competing against Auto Union (their first year). The German cars dominated until WWII broke out, it was known as the era of the Silver Arrows. Very nice.
